NIP Project Status
NIP projects proposed in 2010 will be held until next year.
Among those
proposed for New Monterey are:
- Drainage: Dickman/Belden, Lottie 700 (W side)
- Hawthorne Bicycle Ramp Prelim Environmental
- Landscaping: Prescott/Devisadero plus bench
- Lighthouse Prelim Environmental/Engineering
- Prescott/Parcel Bulbs to slow Prescott traffic
- Retaining Walls: Jessie 800, Lobos 800
- Schulze Park Wall & Plantings
- Street Widenings: Filmore 800, Lily 800, Newton 500, Newton 700,
Oak 500
- Tennis Courts Resurfacing: Cypress Park, Hilltop Park
- Underground Utilities: Spencer 200/300
- Walkways: Filmore 600 (E side), Hoffman (Grace to Lyndon), Lyndon
800 (E side), Taylor 600 with berm

These projects are on the City staff’s active list:
- David Av Cal-Am Reservoir Stormwater Reuse Study
- Cypress Park Security Light
- Emergency Water Tanks at Fire Stn 2 & Hilltop Park
- Grace 700 Widening (just at the corner of Prescott)
- Hoffman Park Redesign/Move CERT box
- Jessie Crosswalks at Irving and Withers
- Prescott sidewalks (Taylor to SeaView)
- Sloat Monument Drainage
- Spencer 600 Widening
- Lower Presidio Walkway
- Hawthorne/Dickman ramp
About a year ago, the City Council voted to put the following projects
on hold, believing they had no health & safety implications. These
three projectshave funds allocated, but no work will
be done until the City Council votes to move them forward:
- David Avenue Crosswalk at Terry Street
- Cost calculation for placing utilities underground
- Sign that flashes the speed when cars are over the speed limit – Prescott
near Filmore
